How to find and check a registered Polish recruitment agency
Short answer: To operate legally in Poland, an employment agency must be entered in the national register of employment agencies (KRAZ); you can search the public register by agency name or NIP and ask the agency for its certificate.
What KRAZ is
KRAZ (Krajowy Rejestr Agencji Zatrudnienia) is the Polish national register of employment agencies. Agencies providing regulated employment services in Poland must be entered in it and receive a certificate. Entries are made by the provincial (voivodeship) marshal for the agency’s registered office, in practice through the provincial labour office.
How to check an agency
- Ask the agency for its KRAZ number, KRS (company registry) and NIP (tax ID).
- Open the public register at the Ministry of Labour’s portal (see sources) and search by agency name or NIP, or list agencies by province.
- Confirm that the legal entity, registered address and the certificate number match what you were given.
- Check the scope of services covered by the entry, since agency services include job placement, temporary work and other categories.
Some operators do not need an entry
Providers authorised in another EU/EEA country may offer placement services in Poland without a Polish entry; temporary work is not covered by this exemption. A registered Polish agency is therefore one way, but not the only legal route, to recruit across borders.

Questions to ask any agency
- Can you show your KRAZ certificate and company registration?
- Which services are you registered for?
- Are any fees charged to the workers? (Polish rules generally restrict charging jobseekers for placement; check the current legislation.)
- What do your contract terms say about replacements, guarantees and termination?
